Cohorts & gatherings

Intentional spaces of formation, across difference.

Cohorts are small, committed communities of people who choose to walk together for a season — to pray, eat, learn, listen, and practice the way of Jesus in the city.

What to expect

A typical cohort meets regularly across several months — gathering for shared meals, common prayer, conversation around Scripture and history, and intentional time spent in our neighborhoods.

Cohorts are designed to be slow. There is no curriculum to finish, no certificate at the end. The point is formation, not accomplishment — the slow shaping of people who can love well.

Who it's for

Cohorts are for people who feel a pull toward deeper formation and shared life — whether you are deeply rooted in a church, on the edges of one, returning, questioning, or somewhere in between.

We especially welcome those who want to be formed across racial, cultural, economic, and denominational difference. The work of beloved community is at the heart of what we do.

Frequently asked

A few common questions.

Do I need to be part of a church?+

No. Cohorts include people in church, on the edges of church, between churches, and outside of church. We trust the Spirit to meet each person where they are.

What is the time commitment?+

Cohorts are designed to fit into real life — typically a few hours every few weeks, with occasional retreats and shared meals.

Is there a cost?+

We work on a gift economy. We invite participants to give as they are able and welcome those who cannot give financially.

Do I need to be Christian?+

Cohorts are explicitly rooted in the way of Jesus, but we welcome anyone willing to be formed alongside us in good faith.
